"How to explain things"

The LZET provides students from all semesters with a platform for presentation/knowledge exchange on  random engineering issues or facts as well as e.g. bachelor or master theses. This does not only increase individual understanding but also trains various presentation skills including practicing free speech.

To put this into practice a beamer, whiteboards, flipcharts and a speaker’s desk are made available for participants’ use.

Constructive feedback is hereby ensured which may be very useful to improve individual skills. If desired, also video feedbacks and prior advice can be provided.

The presentation can be given in the LZET upon appointment and should not exceed 30 minutes to allow for a subsequent discussion.  A further option to enhance one’s own learning process is a brief presentation of 5 to 10 minutes to convey knowledge acquired to fellow students. To share the famous “WOW effect“ with fellow students and to reinforce what you learned by explaining learning contents from seminars and lectures may become a knowledge exchange between you as the speaker and those listening. In addition, you will be able to practice and improve your skills in presenting, probably make your first experiences when speaking before an audience and you will learn how to make useful feedbacks or to use such meaningfully.  Since there is a large variety of options for a presentation, the learning center will gladly support your project.
