Admission requirements for Electrical Engineering Master's programmes

If you would like to enrol in a Master's programme (Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering and Management specialised in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Systems Engineering, Techno mathematics), you can do so in both the summer and winter semesters.

Depending on the programme, the deadlines for beginning a Master's programme may place certain demands on the content of your Bachelor's programme (see below). If you meet these requirements, you can enrol directly in the programme, as all Master's programmes are entrance-free.

Exception: If you are about to complete your Bachelor's degree at the University of Paderborn and would like to start your Master's programme without any problems, it is not necessary to re-enrol. It is sufficient to apply to Paul for a change of degree programme. However, the same deadlines (see above) as for external applicants must be observed. Bachelor's students at the University of Paderborn who wish to begin a consecutive Master's programme in Paderborn are given the opportunity to bring forward Master's courses already in the Bachelor's programme. You can find the regulations on bringing forward Master's courses here.

In order to be able to commence a Electrical Engineering Master's programme in Paderborn, Bachelor's graduates must, depending on the programme, fulfil certain requirements with regard to the study content of their Bachelor's programme. These can always be found in the current examination regulations.

The Bachelor's degree already obtained must be a first professionally qualifying university degree with a standard period of study of at least 6 semesters.

The decision on this and on the type and scope of the studies and examinations is made by the Examination Board on the basis of the previous degree. The missing studies and those to be completed must not exceed 30 credit points. The studies and examinations should be completed in the first semester of the Master's degree programme."
