The Electrical Engineering Podcast "Current Affairs": Episode 25 - What is the KET?

 |  EI-Nachrichten

In the 25th episode of the Electrical Engineering podcast "Current Affairs", Dr.-Ing. Matti Grabo talks to our new host, Julia Kirschbaum, about the Competence Centre for Sustainable Energy Technology (KET).

As a central scientific institution of Paderborn University, the Competence Centre for Sustainable Energy Technology combines interdisziplinär research to promote energy efficiency and the energy transition. Matti Grabo is Managing Director of the Competence Centre and explains it as follows: "[The KET is] an amalgamation of several departments [...] and ultimately this is where expertise is pooled to research topics that are relevant to the energy transition." Collaboration takes place not only between the university's institutes, but also with companies that either sponsor a research project or specifically request measurements and tests. One project, for example, is concerned with the economic and energy-efficient refurbishment of buildings. In addition to his duties as Managing Director, Dr. Matti Grabo's research focuses on efficient heat storage. The technology for the energy transition is there, you just have to combine and use it skilfully, says Dr. Matti Grabo about the future of KET's research and the energy transition in general.

In this episode, Dr Grabo explains how he came to Paderborn University, why the KET is important and what other projects there are. Listen now to the 25th episode of the Electrical Engineering podcast "Current Affairs" wherever podcasts are available or on the institute's website.
