The university of Paderborn sells the specialist group Circuit Technology of the Heinz Nixdorf Institute patent for new visual receivers to Sicoya GmbH in Berlin. PROvendis accompanies a successfull graduation.
About 17 billion Gigabyte of data are already produced annually – according to International Data Corporation (IDC) until the year of 2025 the amount of digital data is supposed to increase tenfoldly. A forward–looking technology is necessary in order to save and process these enormous quantities. This is where the invention of scientists Prof. Dr.–Ing. Christoph Scheytt and Sergiy Gudyriev of the Heinz Nixdorf Institute’s specialist group of circuit technology takes it up: they have developed a new opto–electronical amplifier circuit where data can be transferred parallely with a high speed. The circuit can be applied, inter alia, in fast internet connections within the fiber–optic communication.
In November 2017 the University of Paderborn has sold the property rights to a special transimpedance amplifier including the property right to Sicoya GmbH Berlin and has transferred all rights of use. The company PROvendis supported the scientists druing the entire IP process: starting from the assessment of the invention until the conclusion of contract, so that the university can also make a financial profit.
The company Sicoya is a Start–Up from Berlin which has specialized on the field of Silicon Photonics and which offers optical Transceiverchips for server connections. The company strengthens the new technology for its portofolio.
