On Feb. 23, 2022, and upon recommendation of the board of the Heinz Nixdorf Institute (HNI), the governing board of Paderborn University has appointed Prof. Häb-Umbach to become a full member of the board of HNI.
It is the vision of HNI to create innovative technical systems through a symbiosis of computer science and diverse engineering disciplines. This is perfectly in line with the research efforts conducted in the Department of Communications Engineering headed by Prof. Häb-Umbach, which is concerned with statistical signal processing and machine learning for speech and audio (and a few other) applications.
