On Tuesday, August 30, 2020, our long-time colleague Peter Schütte had his last working day at Paderborn University. Peter has been employed at the university for about 43 years. His colleagues gave him a big thank you and honored him with a doctoral hat "honoris causa". After celebrating this special event with homemade cakes and pasties made by Peter's wife, we went for canoeing on the Lippe river, which turned out to be quite a wet event with a lot of fun for all participants. In the evening we had dinner together, and Peter entertained us with funny and sumetimes weird anectotes from his long working life at the university.
Peter is entering his well-deserved retirement and we will miss his always kind, helpful and friendly manner. We wish him much joy for whatever he is embarking on. Stay healthy and all the best!
