Microcontroller and Interface Electronics Lab

Description

In the internship, the integration of microprocessors in the system design should be practiced. Examples of concrete tasks are:

  • Pulse measurement with microcontroller evaluation display of the pulse on the display
  • Comparison of analog data preprocessing(Schmitttrigger, etc.) with results of digital processing, data acquisition, FFT analysis (C library) and result visualization on display
  • Mirccontroller based color measurement system, representation in color space

Content

The course consists of a basic and a practical part. The following topics are covered in the basic section:

  • Introduction to digital measurement technology (quantization, ADC, DAC principles)
  • Devices of digital measurement technology (triggering, computer-aided data acquisition, oscilloscope)
  • Metrological signal analysis

Topics in the practical section are:

  • Micrcontroller with peripherals to the analog outside world, interface electronic
  • Breadboard / pre-made board with hardware experimentation area
  • Use of measuring instruments: multifunctional instrument, oscilloscope (simultaneous visualization of several pulses, signals of the ADC (start of conversion, end of conversion etc.)), logic analysis
  • Interfaces of microprocessors, A/D- and D/A-conversion, integration of sensors/actuators (e.g. via I2C), USB connection to PC
